Lord Mayor’s Charity

19th November 2020 – Lord Mayor’s Charity

On Thursday 19 November 2020 Councillor Lynn Petrini was installed as the Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber.

We are delighted to tell you that she has nominated City of Hull Street Angels as one of the charities for which her charity committee is raising funds.

We wish all the best to the new Lord Mayor and look forward to working closely with her and her commission.

See the official website for more details.

Public attention

14th August 2020 – Media Frenzy

Wow, a busy media week for the City of Hull Street Angels!

Then we were invited onto the Andy Comfort Show on BBC Radio Humberside.  You can hear our wonderful trustee Carole talking about what we do and how much better we could support the public if we had a new vehicle here.  (We feature at 20 minutes).  A decommissioned ambulance would best suit our needs, though we could probably work with a motorhome or minibus too.  Thanks again to all the wonderful people at the BBC for helping to support our search!

If you are aware of a suitable vehicle, please contact us.  Alternatively, we would appreciate a contribution to our GoFundMe page to buy a new support vehicle here

New Timings Again

2nd August 2020 – New Timings Again

We’re enjoying seeing you all out and about, around the town centre, and have noticed that the busy times are getting closer to what used to be ‘normal’, so we’re changing our patrol times again!  From Friday 7th August, we will be patrolling from 9pm to 2am.  We look forward to seeing you, so please come over to say ‘hi’.

Rescue

31st July 2020 – Our Amazing Volunteers

We spend the majority of our evenings looking after those enjoying a night out. Unfortunately, there are times when we are called upon to assist individuals in distress or with mental health concerns.

We are so proud of our volunteers, especially the guys on patrol last Friday who saved this lady. Hopefully, she will receive the support she needs and we wish her all the best for the journey ahead.

If you find yourself having suicidal thoughts here’s a couple of numbers, PLEASE make the call.

Bus

21st July 2020 – Mystery may have been solved…

One of our bags was returned to us last weekend, found by a member of the public. Thanks again for getting it back to us.

We thought it may have been one of our emergency bags that are stored at various locations in the city centre.

Unfortunately, it appears that it may have been taken from our support bus, as it has been broken into.

The bus is parked up and had not moved in months due to it not being roadworthy; making it a prime target for thieves and vandals.

ATIK Hull has kindly started a go fund me page for us. If you could spare something we’d be ever so grateful. ❤️

Updated Times

21st July 2020 – Revised Timings

We are really enjoying being back out in the City of Hull with you folks!  How are you enjoying the nightlife now?

Currently we’re patrolling from 8pm to midnight, but we will adjust as the nightime economy returns to the new normality.

Let’s all stay safe!

Back in Business

4th July 2020 – We’re back!

The time has come that many have been waiting for…the pubs are opening today!

Our Angels are back and will be patrolling the city centre from 5pm until 10pm this evening.

We hope those of you who do go out have a great time and please remember to adhere to restrictions put in place.
